Recently I have made a plan to buy some modern long gold drawer pulls as a way to do a quick and inexpensive makeover on an old dresser.
These types of bar handles can look very polished but they are often surprisingly affordable. Every little bit counts when you have to buy multiples.

I plan to pair mine with an all white dresser for a sleek look, however I do think they would complement many finishes nicely including wood, black, and even drawers with patterns on them.

Do you prefer the squared off look or the rounded rod look? I find it interesting that such a simple change of shape can create a distinct difference.
Personally I will be going with the squared off corners to match the rectangular edges of my dresser. I think the rounded rod style would be overkill in my case and potentially clash with what I have now.
Some of the rounded pipe ones also remind me of an industrial aesthetic which is not as appealing to me but is still considered modern.
They have the curved design available as well for those needing an ergonomic grip for comfort or prefer the style of a uniquely angled pull.
